Author, researcher, broadcaster.

An independent researcher and freelance author (26 mainstream-published books in 28 years), lecturer and broadcaster. His main areas of interest are cognitive archaeology (especially the newly-designated field of archaeoacoustics) and the anthropology of consciousness and consciousness studies generally. In addition to writing books, he also pens magazine articles and has peer-review papers to his name, plus he is a founding co-editor of a new peer-review journal, Time & Mind. He is also a painter and photographer.
